Adults Only: Enjoying Rome Without The Kids | Pip Milburn
Family holidays can be an excellent way to bring your flock together. Having the chance to experience new things as a group always has its benefits, and your kids can get a lot out of the chance to travel the world. Of course, though, having the opportunity to go without the kids can open a lot of doors which you’d never have had the chance to explore with them. To give you an idea of the sort of trip you can have without the little ones, this post will be exploring some of the more adult aspects of a city like Rome.
Alcohol and Fine Foods
It’s hard for a child to appreciate the finer things in life, as they won’t have experienced enough to understand the difference between a meal from a fast found joint and something created by a master chef. Of course, along with this, they simply can’t drink, and this means that you won’t be able to indulge in fine foods and alcoholic beverages with the little ones around. A Frascati wine tour will give you the chance to enjoy food and drinks like you’ve never had before, but you will only be able to do it as a couple, with the kids finding this sort of attraction very boring. This is something which a lot of people miss from the time before they had their kids.
Tour guides and travel companies work extremely hard to make the history of a place more accessible to young people. Of course, though, it isn’t always easy to depict history accurately when you’re trying to make it more exciting. Tours which are designed for adults will be far more realistic, though, and will often delve into topics which children simply shouldn’t be learning about. Rome is jam-packed with historical locations which have graphic and unpleasant pasts, and learning about them properly will have to be done without the kids, especially when you consider the walking which can come with something like this.
Nightlife and Shopping
Finally, as the last area to consider in all of this, it’s time to think about the nightlife found in a city like Rome. Though it is far from being the party capital of the world, Rome has loads of interesting nightlife options which are reserved for those without kids to look after. From drinking places which host traditional musicians to theatres which play long into the night, there are loads of things to do at night in Rome. Of course, shopping is also a big part of this, and this sort of activity isn’t very fun for kids at all.
With all of this in mind, you should be feeling ready to free yourself from the shackles of parenthood for just a few days. Having the opportunity to explore a city like this is always a chance you should take, as it isn’t everyday that you get to go on an exciting break. Of course, though, you need to make sure that the kids are looked after while you’re gone.
