The Polar Express at Seven Stories | Pip Milburn | AD

We were invited to the opening weekend of Seven Stories special event centred around the Christmas classic picture book The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg.

Izzy taking centre stage and getting involved in the story

Late on Christmas Eve, after the town has gone to sleep, a boy boards a mysterious train that waits for him: the Polar Express bound for the North Pole. When he arrives there, Santa offers him any gift he desires. The boy modestly asks for one bell from the reindeer’s harness. It turns out to be a very special gift, for only believers in Santa can hear it ring.

We were greeted in the attic by the Story Teller Train Driver and a huge card board model of The Polar Express. The attic was decked out with twinkling fairy lights and Christmas decorations which really set the scene for the story.

The story teller told the story with such energy and enthusiasm and got every one involved.

Part way through the story we got to board the train. My daughter Izzy thought this was amazing! We took our seats on The Polar Express and were served with dairy free vegan hot chocolate and a delicious nougat treat.

We then headed through another door where the children (and adults) enjoyed making their very own golden bell decoration.

We thoroughly enjoyed the story workshop, It was a truly magical session and really felt like we were part of the story. We would highly recommend it as a magical Christmas treat for all the family to enjoy.
