Play Room Tour | Interiors Inspiration
When planning Izzy’s play room I knew I wanted it to be light and airy, girly but not too childish. I wanted a room to hold all of her toys with plenty of room to play, but also a space where I can sit and relax too.
A floral element was always going to feature somewhere in the room and after much research on Pinterest, I settled on the Cath Kidston Rosali fabric, specifically designed and produced for Ikea. The fabric was just what I was looking for and I knew it would be readily available from my local Ikea, along with matching accessories.
I also took inspiration from the rocking horse and patchwork throw (pictured above) and decided on a green and pink colour scheme.
The storage boxes, cushions, bunting and Izzy’s play kitchen apron are all in the Rosali fabirc. The storage boxes are from Ikea and I had the cushion covers, bunting and apron made by a shop on Etsy.
As the room is fairly small I wanted a compact sofa, the one I chose from Marks and Spencer compliments the room perfectly.
We decided to build our own TV/storage unit using the Ikea Kalax and Bitrade range. We then secured the unit to the wall for extra child proofing.
I chose a green deep pile rug from Boundary Mills, a bit of an extravagance at £100, but the room has laminate flooring and I wanted to have a super soft and comfy area for Izzy to sit and play with her toys.
I’m so pleased with how the room has turned out, Izzy loves her play room and I love having somewhere to store all of her toys!
